The Volcom app was created to support the launch of their snowboard movie, Mr. Plant. Utilizing Black Sun’s scripting technology and custom CMS, Volcom’s filmers were able to take video clips they shot that day and upload them directly into the app for fans to enjoy and share on social media. The Volcom team could also send push alerts directly from their phones, notifying fans when new clips went live. In addition to this custom built “fresh videos” feature, Volcom was able to showcase feature movies and other video content on demand, highlight relevant products and allow their fans to shop directly from the app
